REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907 / 2006

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, i.e. the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances.

The legal basis for REACH is EC Regulation No. 1907/2006. The REACH Regulation, which came into force on June 1, 2007, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on December 18, 2006. Since then, the REACH Regulation has been directly and equally binding in all EU Member States without the need for national implementation.

The aim of the REACH Regulation is to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment. CT-VIDEO GmbH considers this fundamental social goal to be highly desirable and indispensable. For this reason, business decisions and actions at CT-VIDEO GmbH are always checked for environmentally relevant aspects and effects.

CT-VIDEO GmbH, as a manufacturer of high-quality communication products for authorities, industry and trade, is a so-called “downstream user” within the meaning of REACH and produces exclusively non-chemical products (articles according to Article 3 definitions). Under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, no substances are released from our products. Consequently, any chemical substances contained in our products that may be subject to registration must be registered exclusively by our upstream suppliers.

CT-VIDEO GmbH is therefore not subject to the obligation to prepare safety data sheets.

CT-VIDEO GmbH fully complies with the obligations of a “downstream user” and will inform immediately in accordance with REACH Article 33, based on the ECJ ruling of 15.09.2015, if ingredients of its products (from a content of >0.1% by mass) are classified as a substance of very high concern by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

In the interest and against the background of a high level of supply and product safety, we are closely monitoring the implementation of the REACH regulation, in particular the constant updating of the candidate list, at our suppliers. If we become aware that one or more substances (SVHC) on the candidate list are present in an article, we will inform you of this in our business documents (offer, order confirmation, delivery bill and invoice).

Please understand that we are unable to process individual letters and questionnaires due to the large number of inquiries we receive. This publication should answer all your questions in full.
